"...till Christ be formed in you.." - Paul, Galatians 4:19

Formation Missions is an interdenominational ministry started by Stephen Russell to help train leaders and equip believers of all denominations in the concept of "Kingdom expansion through global equipping". This is done through global missions work, seminar and conference settings.

Formation Missions uses teachers and professors who are experts in their field to bring a variety of both developed and already published materials in fields relating to the maturing of believers and or the further equipping of local church pastors and their leadership teams.

The hope of Formation Missions is that support for and encouragement to local church pastors and their leaders be imparted as we partner to see God's Kingdom expand in all the earth. Our goal is to take well qualified trained leaders to nations where pastoral training is limited to help facilitate growth in the global Body of Christ.

Stephen Russell has ministered in rural Southern Africa since 1983 where he gained first-hand knowledge of the need for continued church leadership training. During this time he also established lasting relationships across denominational lines and regional borders; leaders in nine Sub-Saharan African nations were trained through seminars, conferences and other training events. In 1988 he and his wife Dalene established a church and Christian school in the north-east of South Africa.

The Russell family relocated to the United States in 2001 to assume the leadership of New Life Christian Center in Dennis Port, Massachusetts. They continue to travel internationally to train and equip the Body of Christ. Stephen has a passion for developing relationships among leaders, and to build bridges across  denominational lines.

They have two married daughters and one grandson. Stephen holds a BA (South Africa), a Th.M. and a Th.D. (USA).
